MJ Daly has recently been awarded the Mechanical and Fire Protection scopes for the 101 College Street project. The $100M project is the new construction of a 10-story, 500,000 sqft bioscience lab, and office tower. It will be built atop the former Route 34 connector in New Haven, CT. Construction will begin in August and is slated for completion in November 2022.

The Fire Protection scope includes installing a new fire pump, standpipe, dry and wet systems to support 5,816 sprinkler heads. In addition, 10 manual dry deluge systems will be installed with standpipe connection feeds supporting 315 sprinkler heads.

The Mechanical scope includes installation of new HVAC systems, including AHUs, EAHUs, HV units, chillers, cooling towers, condenser water filters, condensing boilers, pumps (base mounted and inline), air separators, expansion tanks, glycol makeup units, chemical shot feeders, heat exchangers, fuel oil pump, fuel oil tank and filtration system, fan coil units, CAV/VAV boxes, exhaust VAV boxes, electric reheat coils, electric cabinet unit heaters, finned tube radiation, AC/CU splits, VFDs, along with all applicable plumbing, sheet metal, ductwork, and HVAC controls.
