Project Overview
The new construction of Torrington Middle–High School will replace the existing outdated schools. The three-story middle school is on one side, and a four-story high school is on the other. The main floor connects the buildings and will feature a performance theater–a round building linked to the cafeteria and other shared spaces. The third and fourth floors have classrooms and a media/library center. The top floor will house administrative offices. The school will do a phased opening projected to start in February 2025.
MJ Daly is installing the supply and return piping to provide the building with heating, hot, and chilled water for ventilation/air conditioning. Radiant heat piping will run through hallways and classrooms to support an even temperature for the windows. Domestic water supply installation has included fabricated plumbing sections for the bathroom sinks and toilets. Equipment will soon be installed and tied into the piping.
