MJ Daly is installing a complete fire protection system for the new STEM Research Center 1 building located in Storrs, CT, on the University of Connecticut’s main campus. The new 198,000 sqft building will be home to the Institute of Materials Science and include multi-functional labs, offices, an auditorium, a clean room, and a small cafe.
The project scope includes engineering and intensive BIM coordination due to the limited space and the large mechanical equipment needed to serve the various labs. The fire protection sprinkler system’s water flow will be supplied by the main campus’s high-pressure fire loop.
